## Description

You can now give your AI agent a way to browse Moscow's lodging market. This MCP pulls from OpenStreetMap and Russian Wikipedia to provide specific details on hotels, hostels, and budget stays. If you need to find a five-star hotel near a specific landmark, your agent can filter by star rating or proximity. For those looking for cheaper options, the tool covers hostels, guest houses, and even campsites located around the city's outer ring. You can also get a high-level view of the city's lodging capacity or pull encyclopedic entries for specific famous hotels. It's a practical way to move from a general travel question to a specific list of addresses and contact details without leaving your chat interface.

## Frequently Asked Questions

**Does this MCP include all hotels in Moscow?**
It includes about 500 mapped hotels. Not every hotel is tagged with a star rating, so star filters only show hotels that have that data.

**Can I find hostels near me?**
Yes, you can use the find_hostels tool to search by name or by a specific distance from a coordinate.

**Where does the data come from?**
The data is sourced from OpenStreetMap and Russian Wikipedia.

**How do I find apartments?**
Use the find_apartments tool. Note that apartment tagging in OSM can be inconsistent, so not all short-stay flats will appear.

**Can I find campsites?**
Yes, the find_budget_stays tool includes campsites, which are mostly located around the city's outer ring.

**Do I need an API key?**
No. Every source is keyless and global: OpenStreetMap (Overpass + Nominatim) and Russian Wikipedia. The MCP defines no credentials.

**Can I book through this MCP?**
No. This is the mapped inventory — locations, names, phones, websites, star ratings. Booking happens on the hotel site or an aggregator.

**Why is the star filter not exhaustive?**
Not every mapped hotel carries a star tag in OSM. The filter keeps only the ones that do, so a "5-star" search shows the mapped five-star hotels, not every five-star hotel in the city.

**Can I find hotels near a venue?**
Pass lat + lon (and optionally km, 0.1–25) and the query narrows to a radius instead of the whole city. Do it before a long list — a citywide scan is capped at 200 rows.
