How to Use the Appwrite MCP in Cline
Tell Cline to build a UI with your Appwrite data. It will connect, fetch the info, and write the component right inside VS Code.
Works with every AI agent you already use
…and any MCP-compatible client

Build UIs with live Appwrite data
This server connects Cline to your live Appwrite backend data. It lets your agent build real components instead of working with stale, mocked-up info. Stop writing placeholder data. Just tell Cline, 'Build a user list component using the production database.' It will call `list_collections` to find the right one, then `list_documents` to get the data, and generate the actual React or Svelte code. You just get a diff to review.
Audit your backend from VS Code
These tools give Cline a direct line to your Appwrite project's operational status. You can check on your backend without ever leaving your code. Ask Cline to 'check the backend health' and it runs `get_health_status`. Or have it 'list all cloud functions' and it uses `list_functions` to pull the list and can even start writing test stubs for them. It's all part of your coding flow.
The Cline MCP Server Advantage
This MCP Server turns Appwrite data into an active part of your development process inside VS Code. Cline doesn't just show you data; it uses it to write code. Cline won't just show you the output from `list_users`. It will use that list to build a user management dashboard. It sees your storage buckets with `list_storage_buckets` and offers to create a file browser component. It’s about turning information into finished work.
