Run Assertible tests using this Claude Desktop MCP Server

`run_service_tests` lets your agent trigger your entire API test suite without leaving Claude Desktop. You write a prompt to check your API status, and Claude Desktop executes the test run immediately. If a specific endpoint fails, your agent uses `run_specific_test` to isolate the bug. You get the raw test results right in the chat panel, letting you debug local issues before pushing code.

Sync specifications and validate payloads locally

`sync_specification` pushes your local OpenAPI or Swagger files straight to Assertible from Claude Desktop. Your agent reads your local directory, grabs the spec file, and updates your assertions instantly. For quick schema checks, `validate_json` runs a Draft 4 schema validation on any raw payload in your chat. This tool requires no MCP configuration for basic use.

Embed live API status badges in your chats

`get_service_status_badge` fetches real-time markdown badges for your Assertible services directly into Claude Desktop. Your agent inserts these visual status indicators right into your conversation. You can also use `get_test_status_badge` to track specific test results during a debugging session. This lets you monitor your remote API health while talking to Claude Desktop.

Common questions about Assertible MCP in Claude Desktop

Add the server to your configuration file. Once connected as an MCP tool, ask your agent to run `run_service_tests` for your service ID. The results populate directly in your active chat.
Yes, your agent uses `sync_specification` to upload local specs. You must configure your `ASSERTIBLE_SYNC_TOKEN` in the environment variables for this tool to work.
The `validate_json` tool processes Draft 4 schema checks. Your agent handles this locally within the Claude Desktop environment, bypassing the need for external API credentials.
Yes, you can run `create_deployment` to register a new deployment. This action triggers your Assertible test suites automatically, and the status returns directly to your Claude Desktop window.
Your OpenAPI specifications and sync tokens remain stored locally on your machine. Claude Desktop executes the MCP server as a local subprocess, meaning your deployment credentials never pass through external servers.
