Script automated lock checks in Claude Code

The `get_lock` tool allows Claude Code to fetch the real-time status of any physical lockbox via your terminal. You can pipe this raw data directly into other command-line utilities using this MCP Server. This makes it easy to write cron jobs that check for low batteries or open latches. Your agent processes the raw terminal output and alerts you if a lock remains open.

Terminal-based barcode monitoring

The `list_barcodes` tool displays all active delivery credentials directly in your terminal window. Claude Code parses this list to find active codes matching specific carrier formats. You can command the agent to filter these codes by location or user. It runs the query, formats the text, and outputs a clean list to your stdout.

Remote latch control via CLI

The `press_to_open` tool lets you trigger a physical lock opening directly from a shell prompt. Your agent handles the transport details and sends the required JSON payload to the lockbox. This eliminates the need to open a web browser or mobile app to test hardware. You run one command, and the physical lock opens instantly.

Common questions about BoxLock MCP in Claude Code

Run the setup command to add this MCP Server to your terminal configuration. Claude Code updates its local settings and lists the seven BoxLock tools as available.
Yes, Claude Code calls `list_activities` to dump raw event logs into your terminal. You can ask the agent to search for specific timestamps or carrier IDs.
Ask the agent to open a specific lock, and it will execute the `press_to_open` tool. You must confirm the execution in your terminal before the physical signal is sent.
Yes, the server runs over standard HTTP or SSE transports. You can integrate this MCP toolset into automated testing pipelines to verify physical lock integrations.
Your activity logs and access credentials are encrypted in transit using TLS 1.3. Vinkius processes these requests through ephemeral instances that destroy all session data as soon as the MCP tool execution finishes.
