Collaborative Video Editing with AutoGen

Your creative agent fetches all available highlights using `list_all_clips` to start a multi-agent debate. They negotiate which clips to approve, calling `get_clip_details` to inspect individual durations and timestamps. This cooperative process ensures only the most engaging highlights get selected for publishing.

Multi-Agent Verification of ContentGroove Jobs

Your primary agent initiates video imports using `create_media_from_url` while a QA agent monitors the progress. If an issue occurs, the QA agent can trigger a retry or alert your team. This multi-agent setup prevents stuck jobs and keeps your video processing pipeline moving without manual supervision.

Secure Multi-Agent Uploads via MCP Server

Your coordinator agent requests a signed upload destination using `create_direct_upload` to handle raw video intake. A secondary agent verifies the upload status using `get_media_details` before passing the project to the clipping agents. This separation of concerns prevents any single agent from having too much control over your media assets.

Setup guide

Set up ContentGroove MCP in AutoGen

Prerequisites

  • Python 3.10+ installed
  • autogen-ext[mcp] package
  • Active Vinkius subscription with a valid endpoint token
  1. 1

    Install AutoGen with MCP

    Run pip install "autogen-ext[mcp]" autogen-agentchat. The MCP extension includes mcp_server_tools for stateless tool access.

  2. 2

    Fetch tools from the MCP

    Call mcp_server_tools(SseServerParams(url=...)) with your Vinkius endpoint. Replace [YOUR_TOKEN_HERE] with your token from cloud.vinkius.com.

  3. 3

    Run your agent

    Pass the tools to AssistantAgent and call agent.run(). The agent invokes ContentGroove tools and returns structured results.

agent.py
from autogen_ext.tools.mcp import SseServerParams, mcp_server_tools
from autogen_agentchat.agents import AssistantAgent
from autogen_ext.models.openai import OpenAIChatCompletionClient

server_params = SseServerParams(
    url="https://edge.vinkius.com/[YOUR_TOKEN_HERE]/mcp"
)

tools = await mcp_server_tools(server_params)

agent = AssistantAgent(
    name="ContentGroove_assistant",
    model_client=OpenAIChatCompletionClient(model="gpt-4o"),
    tools=tools,
)

result = await agent.run("List recent ContentGroove data")
print(result.messages[-1].content)

Common questions about ContentGroove MCP in AutoGen

One agent can initiate the process using `create_media_from_url`, while another agent monitors `get_media_status` and alerts the team when the clips are ready.
Yes, you can set up a conversation where agents analyze metadata retrieved from `get_media_clips` and vote on which highlights to publish.
You use the AutoGen MCP extension to load the tools. The adapter automatically maps tools like `list_media` into schemas that your agents can call during their conversations.
Yes, if `get_media_details` returns an error, a supervisor agent can decide to trigger `create_direct_upload` again to restart the process.
Only your authorized AutoGen agents can access your media data. Vinkius executes the MCP Server in an ephemeral sandbox, securing your API keys and keeping your video URLs private.
