Debating Contentstack data in AutoGen

One agent calls `get_entry` while another checks the schema via `get_content_type_details`. They compare the data to find discrepancies. This stops bad data from passing through. The agents challenge each other until they agree on the entry details.

Multi-agent Contentstack workflows

You assign a specialized agent to handle `list_assets` and another to manage `sync_content`. They work as a team to keep your environment updated. It handles complexity well. Each agent focuses on a specific part of the Contentstack API.

Consensus on Contentstack entries

Agents use `search_entries` to find information and then debate the findings. This ensures the final answer is vetted by multiple perspectives. It is perfect for complex CMS tasks. The agents verify the content against your stack summary before finalizing.

Setup guide

Set up Contentstack MCP in AutoGen

Prerequisites

  • Python 3.10+ installed
  • autogen-ext[mcp] package
  • Active Vinkius subscription with a valid endpoint token
  1. 1

    Install AutoGen with MCP

    Run pip install "autogen-ext[mcp]" autogen-agentchat. The MCP extension includes mcp_server_tools for stateless tool access.

  2. 2

    Fetch tools from the MCP

    Call mcp_server_tools(SseServerParams(url=...)) with your Vinkius endpoint. Replace [YOUR_TOKEN_HERE] with your token from cloud.vinkius.com.

  3. 3

    Run your agent

    Pass the tools to AssistantAgent and call agent.run(). The agent invokes Contentstack tools and returns structured results.

agent.py
from autogen_ext.tools.mcp import SseServerParams, mcp_server_tools
from autogen_agentchat.agents import AssistantAgent
from autogen_ext.models.openai import OpenAIChatCompletionClient

server_params = SseServerParams(
    url="https://edge.vinkius.com/[YOUR_TOKEN_HERE]/mcp"
)

tools = await mcp_server_tools(server_params)

agent = AssistantAgent(
    name="Contentstack_assistant",
    model_client=OpenAIChatCompletionClient(model="gpt-4o"),
    tools=tools,
)

result = await agent.run("List recent Contentstack data")
print(result.messages[-1].content)

Common questions about Contentstack MCP in AutoGen

Yes. Multiple agents can call different tools to cross-verify information. They debate the results from Contentstack until they reach a conclusion.
One agent can poll `get_content_type_details` and alert the others. This keeps the whole group aligned with your current data model.
The MCP server is stateless, so each agent in your AutoGen group can call tools independently. They share the same endpoint but maintain their own focus.
You define the tool list in the agent constructor. You can give one agent read-only access to `get_stack_summary` while others query entries.
Your Contentstack data is isolated in the Vinkius sandbox. It is only accessible to the agents you authorize within your specific AutoGen session.
