Works with every AI agent you already use
…and any MCP-compatible client
Connect CrossRef MCP to Cursor
Create your Vinkius account to connect CrossRef to Cursor and route execution through our secure gateway. The platform manages server hosting, runtime updates, and security layers. Configuration requires no manual server provisioning.
Inject live DOI metadata into your Cursor codebase
Avoid hardcoding placeholder citation data in your projects. The `get_crossref_doi` tool lets the Cursor agent retrieve real, production-ready metadata like journal titles and author lists using a DOI. The agent writes code that handles actual academic data structures instead of guessed schemas. This ensures your bibliographic features or citation parsers work flawlessly with real-world registry responses.
Query 140M papers using the Cursor MCP Server
Build search interfaces with live data by letting your editor search the registry. The `search_crossref` tool gives your Cursor agent the ability to query the massive academic database through this MCP Server. Instead of mocking API responses, you can build your application around real citation counts and bibliographic records. Your agent writes, tests, and refines your search logic using actual academic datasets.
Build author profile pages with real publication histories
When building academic directories, you can feed the `search_crossref_author` tool to your Cursor editor to generate authentic author profiles. The tool returns a list of publications sorted by relevance with citation counts. Cursor uses this live data to construct UI components and database schemas that match the shape of academic records. You write better code because you are working with real scientific metadata from day one.
