How to Use the Docdown MCP in Cursor
Write code that generates PDFs using live Docdown template data inside Cursor.
Works with every AI agent you already use
…and any MCP-compatible client
Connect Docdown MCP to Cursor
Create your Vinkius account to connect Docdown to Cursor and route execution through our secure gateway. The platform manages server hosting, runtime updates, and security layers. Configuration requires no manual server provisioning.
Build real payloads using live schemas
The `get_template_field_schema` tool pulls the exact JSON schema for your Docdown templates into your editor. Your Cursor agent reads this structure to write accurate integration code on the first try. Stop guessing which keys are optional. The agent uses `get_template_details` to verify field types, mapping your database models to the document inputs without errors.
Run live tests with this MCP Server
The `generate_new_document` tool lets your editor compile and test PDF generation directly during development. You can trigger live runs using sandbox data to check the output before committing code. Use `get_document_status` to fetch the completed PDF URL. You can inspect the visual layout immediately, bypassing the usual mock-and-pray development cycle.
Audit template IDs inside your codebase
The `list_doc_templates` tool retrieves your entire active library so you can match template IDs in your configuration files via this MCP Server. Your agent scans this list to flag hardcoded strings that no longer exist. If you are looking for a specific layout, `search_templates_by_name` lets you query your account. It replaces manual dashboard searches with quick, in-editor lookups.
