Manage video rooms via AutoGen agent consensus

`create_meeting` is the core tool that your AutoGen coordinator agent triggers once the group reaches a consensus. For example, a support agent and a manager agent can debate whether an issue requires a live call before executing the tool. This prevents unnecessary resource creation by requiring agreement before spinning up video infrastructure. The execution parameters are automatically converted to match AutoGen's schema.

Manage participant access through agent negotiation

`add_participant` registers new users to a meeting after your security agent approves their access permissions. The agents discuss the user's role and credentials before executing the call. You can also use `list_participants` to let a moderator agent audit who is currently in the call. If an unauthorized user is detected, the agent flag triggers immediate admin alerts.

Control recording states via multi-agent validation

`start_recording` initiates the session archive only after your compliance agent confirms that all privacy checks are met. This multi-agent verification ensures you never record sessions without proper clearance. When the meeting wraps up, a performance agent calls `stop_recording` to avoid extra storage fees. The agents coordinate the entire lifecycle from start to finish without human intervention using this MCP Server.

Setup guide

Set up Dyte MCP in AutoGen

Prerequisites

  • Python 3.10+ installed
  • autogen-ext[mcp] package
  • Active Vinkius subscription with a valid endpoint token
  1. 1

    Install AutoGen with MCP

    Run pip install "autogen-ext[mcp]" autogen-agentchat. The MCP extension includes mcp_server_tools for stateless tool access.

  2. 2

    Fetch tools from the MCP

    Call mcp_server_tools(SseServerParams(url=...)) with your Vinkius endpoint. Replace [YOUR_TOKEN_HERE] with your token from cloud.vinkius.com.

  3. 3

    Run your agent

    Pass the tools to AssistantAgent and call agent.run(). The agent invokes Dyte tools and returns structured results.

agent.py
from autogen_ext.tools.mcp import SseServerParams, mcp_server_tools
from autogen_agentchat.agents import AssistantAgent
from autogen_ext.models.openai import OpenAIChatCompletionClient

server_params = SseServerParams(
    url="https://edge.vinkius.com/[YOUR_TOKEN_HERE]/mcp"
)

tools = await mcp_server_tools(server_params)

agent = AssistantAgent(
    name="Dyte_assistant",
    model_client=OpenAIChatCompletionClient(model="gpt-4o"),
    tools=tools,
)

result = await agent.run("List recent Dyte data")
print(result.messages[-1].content)

Common questions about Dyte MCP in AutoGen

Install autogen-ext[mcp] and use mcp_server_tools with your Vinkius HTTP URL. Pass the resulting tools list directly to your AssistantAgent constructor.
Yes, a marketing agent can evaluate user demand and coordinate with a host agent to trigger start_livestream. They negotiate the timing and execute the tool once they agree.
The MCP tool adapter automatically translates the MCP schema into the format AutoGen expects. You do not need to write manual JSON validation layers for your agents.
Yes, the integration supports both stdio and Streamable HTTP transports. Vinkius provides a hosted endpoint so you do not have to manage local server processes.
