Spin up and control Dyte meetings in Claude Desktop

This MCP Server lets your agent run `create_meeting` and `get_meeting` directly from your local Claude Desktop chat window to configure live video sessions. You don't need to dig through API docs or write custom scripts just to spin up a video room. Your agent handles the API calls locally and returns the session details instantly. When you need to check on active video rooms, the agent calls `list_meetings` to pull current session data into Claude Desktop. This keeps your video infrastructure organized without you ever leaving your workspace or opening a browser tab.

Onboard live video users via Claude Desktop

The `add_participant` tool lets Claude Desktop generate join tokens for your live video users on the fly. Instead of manual token generation scripts, you tell your local agent who needs access, and it handles the payload creation. You can also run `list_participants` to monitor who is currently in a video session from Claude Desktop. The agent parses this raw list into a clean summary, making it easy to see active users right inside your chat interface.

Control recordings and livestreams locally

This MCP Server exposes `start_recording` and `stop_recording` so Claude Desktop can manage your session media archives. You don't have to manually click record in the UI; your local agent triggers the recording based on your chat commands. If you are broadcasting, the agent uses `start_livestream` and `stop_livestream` to manage your external feeds. It can also pull archive details using `get_recording` as soon as the session ends.

Common questions about Dyte MCP in Claude Desktop

Open your local `claude_desktop_config.json` file and add the MCP Server configuration under the mcpServers key. Pass your API keys as environment variables in the arguments array, then restart the app.
No, because the Dyte API requires an active internet connection to create rooms and manage participants. Your local Claude Desktop client executes the tools via stdio, but those tools must reach the cloud endpoints.
Yes, you can connect this MCP Server to claude.ai in your browser as a custom connector. You just paste the hosted URL in your integration settings to start running tools like meeting creation.
Ask your agent to run `create_webhook` with your target URL and event subscriptions. The server registers the webhook immediately so your app gets real-time updates when meetings start or end.
All participant tokens and video meeting metadata stay local to your Claude Desktop instance. Vinkius runs the server in an isolated sandbox, meaning your API credentials never touch external logs or persistent storage.
