Works with every AI agent you already use
…and any MCP-compatible client
Connect edX MCP to Cursor
Create your Vinkius account to connect edX to Cursor and route execution through our secure gateway. The platform manages server hosting, runtime updates, and security layers. Configuration requires no manual server provisioning.
Build curriculum files in Cursor using live edX data
The `get_course` tool pulls complete course metadata, including estimated effort, prerequisites, and academic levels, directly into Cursor. Your coding agent uses this raw data to populate local training databases or markdown syllabi. This MCP Server ensures your local education platform templates match real university standards. You avoid copying and pasting course details from browser tabs into your code files.
Map academic subjects to database schemas
By calling the `get_subjects` tool, you retrieve the official edX subject taxonomy directly inside your Cursor editor. Your agent reads these categories to build accurate tagging systems for your educational web applications. You can quickly generate SQL seeds or JSON fixtures that align with global academic topics. The agent writes clean code based on the live response structure.
Fetch program credentials for application testing
The `get_program` tool retrieves structured data for MicroMasters, Professional Certificates, and Bootcamps inside Cursor. Your agent uses these multi-course structures to test how your application handles complex educational paths. Using this MCP tool inside Cursor allows you to mock realistic catalog data. You build and test features using actual curriculum structures instead of placeholder strings.
