Long-context GitScrum Tasks analysis with Google ADK

Gemini can ingest your entire project history because of its massive context window. When you connect this MCP Server, the model can call `list_tasks` to pull thousands of active items, comments, and checklists into its memory at once. Once the data is in context, the agent uses Google ADK to find patterns, identify blockers, and run `related_tasks` to map out dependencies. You do not have to write custom chunking code to handle large backlogs.

From BigQuery data to team assignments

If your enterprise runs its analytics on Google Cloud, your agent can query BigQuery for performance metrics and immediately update your project board. It can check which features are lagging, then call `create_task` to spin up a mitigation plan. The agent can then call `assign_member` to put the right engineer on the job. Because the Google ADK links native cloud tools with this server, the transition from raw SQL data to a tracked task happens in one run.

Automated sprint cleanup

Keep your backlog clean without manual triaging. The agent can run `my_today_tasks` to check what is overdue, then call `toggle_task_done` or `update_task` to push dates back based on team availability. It can also clean up stale discussions by calling `list_comments` and summarizing long threads. The agent then writes a short update using `create_comment` so everyone stays aligned.

Setup guide

Set up GitScrum Tasks MCP in Google ADK

Prerequisites

  • Python 3.10+ installed
  • google-adk package (pip install google-adk)
  • Active Vinkius subscription with a valid endpoint token
  1. 1

    Install Google ADK

    Run pip install google-adk to install the Agent Development Kit. MCP support is included via the McpToolset class.

  2. 2

    Connect via SSE transport

    Use McpToolset.from_server() with SseServerParams pointing to your Vinkius endpoint. Replace [YOUR_TOKEN_HERE] with your token from cloud.vinkius.com.

  3. 3

    Create an LlmAgent

    Pass the returned mcp_tools list directly to LlmAgent(tools=mcp_tools). The ADK maps each MCP tool to a native Gemini function call — no manual schema definitions required.

  4. 4

    Run with any Gemini model

    The agent works with any Gemini model (gemini-2.0-flash, gemini-2.5-pro, etc.). Copy the full example on the right to get started with GitScrum Tasks tools in your ADK agent.

agent.py
from google.adk.agents import LlmAgent
from google.adk.tools.mcp_tool.mcp_toolset import McpToolset
from google.adk.tools.mcp_tool.mcp_session_manager import SseServerParams

# Connect to the MCP via SSE
mcp_tools, exit_stack = await McpToolset.from_server(
    connection_params=SseServerParams(
        url="https://edge.vinkius.com/[YOUR_TOKEN_HERE]/mcp"
    )
)

# Create your agent with auto-discovered tools
agent = LlmAgent(
    name="GitScrum Tasks_agent",
    model="gemini-2.0-flash",
    instruction="You have access to GitScrum Tasks tools via MCP.",
    tools=mcp_tools,
)

Common questions about GitScrum Tasks MCP in Google ADK

Yes, you can use the optional tool_names filter when initializing your McpToolset. This lets you restrict the agent to read-only tools like `get_task` while blocking write operations like `delete_task`.
Gemini uses its 1M+ token context window to ingest everything returned by `list_tasks`. It can process thousands of tasks and checklists in a single call without losing track of details.
Vinkius handles the authentication layer for you. You only need to pass your single endpoint token to the StreamableHttpServerParameters URL in your Python code.
Yes. The agent can call `toggle_task_done` or use `update_task` to modify the status field of any task based on your development team's actual progress.
Yes. Your GitScrum project details, including task descriptions and user IDs, are processed within your secure Google Cloud perimeter and Vinkius V8 MCP sandboxes. No task data is used to train public models.
