Pull vintage code and software directly into VS Code
Cline can find and inspect classic software or datasets without leaving your editor. By running `search_by_mediatype` with the software filter, the agent locates vintage files and retrieves their structure using this MCP server. It then uses `get_item_files` to identify the correct download path. Cline can write the download script, run it in your terminal, and unpack the files right into your workspace.
Let this MCP Server repair broken URLs in your codebase
Dead external links in your code or documentation are a headache. Cline scans your files, extracts external URLs, and uses `wayback_availability` to find their archived counterparts. Once it gets a valid snapshot back, the agent directly edits your files to replace the dead links. You get a clean git diff showing the repaired URLs.
Analyze historical metadata and reviews in real time
Building a research tool or catalog inside VS Code is easier when your agent can fetch raw data. Cline queries `get_item_metadata` via this MCP integration to extract publication dates, creators, and licensing info. To gauge community reception, it triggers `get_item_reviews` and `get_views_stats`. The agent parses this JSON payload and formats it directly into your local database or markdown files.
