Cline executes end-to-end KEGG queries

Cline uses `kegg_find` to discover relevant entries and `kegg_get` to pull raw file data for your components. It automates the entire retrieval process. You tell Cline to build a module using specific pathway data. It calls the necessary tools, writes the implementation, and creates the required test files.

Manage genomic IDs in Cline

Use `kegg_conv` to translate proprietary IDs into KEGG-compatible formats. Cline performs these mappings during the build phase to ensure data integrity. It removes the need for manual dictionary management. Cline detects the ID format, calls the conversion tool, and updates your code automatically.

Verify drug interactions via Cline

Cline integrates `kegg_ddi` into your testing pipeline to catch dangerous interactions early. It processes your drug lists and generates a report of any known conflicts. This prevents runtime errors in your clinical tools. Cline flags the interaction, writes the error handling logic, and keeps your project safe.

Common questions about KEGG MCP in Cline

Cline connects to the server through the MCP interface. It uses the seven defined tools to fetch, map, and list biological data directly into your workspace.
Yes. Cline can chain `kegg_list` and `kegg_link` to build a complete map of related genes and pathways. It writes the code to process these relations for you.
Your project data is never exposed. Cline only transmits the specific IDs and search terms requested to the KEGG REST API, ensuring your local research remains isolated.
Tell Cline to run the `kegg_list` tool with the organism parameter. It will parse the return data and present the list in your VS Code terminal.
It accesses public genomic and chemical identifiers. No sensitive patient information or private hospital records are ever transmitted to or from this server.
