Automating geospatial extraction with this MCP Server.

Cascade reads your prompt and immediately checks the available options. `list_models` finds the exact AI model for your target area, from road networks to vegetation patterns. You don't have to hold its hand. The agent creates a workspace using `create_project` and queues up the job while you watch the logs roll in.

Processing satellite data autonomously.

You hand Cascade a bounding box, and it handles the API request. `create_processing` takes your JSON payload of coordinates and kicks off the imagery analysis. Polling happens entirely in the background. The IDE uses `get_processing_status` to check the job state, waiting until the extraction finishes before moving to the next step.

Pulling final polygons into your codebase.

`get_processing_result` fetches the completed vector data directly into your active editor tab. You get raw GeoJSON ready for your mapping application. Managing past work is just as fast. Cascade can run `list_processings` or `list_projects` to find older extraction jobs and append their data to your current file.

Setup guide

Set up Mapflow MCP in Windsurf

Prerequisites

  • Windsurf IDE installed (macOS, Windows, or Linux)
  • Active Vinkius subscription with a valid endpoint token
  1. 1

    Open MCP configuration

Click the Cascade assistant icon in the sidebar, then click the hammer icon (🔨) at the top of the panel. Select "Configure" to open ~/.codeium/windsurf/mcp_config.json.

  2. 2

    Add the Mapflow MCP

Paste the JSON snippet shown on the right into the mcpServers object. Replace [YOUR_TOKEN_HERE] with your endpoint token from cloud.vinkius.com.

  3. 3

    Refresh MCPs

Go back to the hammer icon (🔨) in Cascade and click "Refresh". Windsurf will detect the new server. No full restart is needed — the connection is hot-reloaded.

  4. 4

    Verify in Cascade

Start a new Cascade conversation and ask something like "Show my Mapflow payment history." If connected, Cascade will call the Mapflow tools directly. You will see a green dot next to the server name in the MCP panel.

Common questions about Mapflow MCP in Windsurf

Edit your `~/.codeium/windsurf/mcp_config.json` file. Add the server details under the `mcpServers` object, then click Refresh in the MCP panel. You can also use the built-in marketplace.
Yes. Cascade chains the required tools automatically. It will find a model, start the project, and poll the status until the results are ready.
The tools return standard JSON strings containing your geospatial data. You usually get GeoJSON feature collections representing the detected buildings or roads.
Tell Cascade to check your job queue. It will call the status endpoint and report back exactly how far along the imagery analysis is.
Vinkius isolates your bounding box coordinates and satellite imagery requests in a zero-trust V8 sandbox. This MCP connection is ephemeral, meaning your geospatial vectors disappear from the server memory the moment the API call completes.
