How to Use the Moodle MCP in Cline
Cline gives you direct control over your Moodle site, letting you run admin tasks as part of your coding workflow.
Works with every AI agent you already use
…and any MCP-compatible client
Connect Moodle MCP to Cline
Create your Vinkius account to connect Moodle to Cline and route execution through our secure gateway. The platform manages server hosting, runtime updates, and security layers. Configuration requires no manual server provisioning.
Cline manages Moodle users
Tell Cline to onboard a cohort and it executes `create_users` for every entry in your list. It confirms each creation so you know exactly who is registered. Once the accounts exist, it calls `enrol_users` to put them into the right course. The agent does the heavy lifting, and you just review the final output.
Fetch Moodle content for Cline
Need to build a UI that displays course materials? Use `get_course_contents` to pull the raw data directly into your editor. Cline processes these results to help you write accurate components. You avoid manual data entry because the agent pulls the live content for you.
Cline audits your Moodle files
Call `list_files` to see exactly what is stored in a specific course area. It helps you track down assets or verify that uploads finished correctly. If you need a quick site overview, use `get_site_info` to grab version numbers and system status. It gives you the necessary context to troubleshoot any environment issues.
