How to Use the Node-RED MCP in Cursor
Build and debug your automation logic by letting Cursor interact with your Node-RED environment.
Works with every AI agent you already use
…and any MCP-compatible client
Connect Node-RED MCP to Cursor
Create your Vinkius account to connect Node-RED to Cursor and route execution through our secure gateway. The platform manages server hosting, runtime updates, and security layers. Configuration requires no manual server provisioning.
Cursor-driven Node-RED flow updates
Your agent can now write flow logic for you. Use `add_flow` to inject new nodes or `update_flow` to modify existing ones while you code. It treats your flows like any other source code. You get live feedback on your changes without switching contexts.
Live diagnostics for Node-RED in Cursor
Run `get_diagnostics` to see why your automation is lagging. It gives you the memory and system stats you need to debug performance issues immediately. Don't guess at the cause. Check the output against your code changes to see if a specific node is driving up your usage.
Automated Node-RED package management
Need a specific library? Ask your agent to run `install_node` to pull it into your Node-RED instance automatically. It keeps your dependencies in sync with your project requirements. You can verify the installation status instantly with `get_nodes`.
