Chain Web Scraping Workflows in Windsurf
Tell Cascade to extract competitor pricing, and this MCP server handles the rest. It uses `get_token` to authenticate with Octoparse, runs `list_tasks` to find the right crawler, and starts it. Cascade doesn't stop there. It polls the crawler status using `get_task_status` and triggers `get_task_data` once the run finishes, feeding the raw data directly into your active workspace.
Dynamic Crawler Parameterization
Windsurf can modify scraper targets on the fly based on your open files. If you change a list of target domains in your editor, Cascade calls `update_task_params` to inject those new URLs straight into your Octoparse crawler. You don't have to open the desktop app to adjust search queries. Cascade runs `start_task` to execute the updated scraper, keeping your data collection aligned with your local codebase.
Automated Data Extraction and Cleanup
This MCP server lets Cascade read your database schema and extract matches directly from your Octoparse cloud storage. It calls `get_task_data` with strict offset limits to keep Windsurf from hitting memory limits. Right after grabbing the clean dataset, Cascade runs `mark_data_exported` and `clear_task_data` to keep your Octoparse cloud footprint clean and prevent duplicate processing on subsequent runs.
