Key Capabilities
Edit CRM records directly from your editor
`update_record` allows Cline to modify standard and custom objects without leaving your code. The agent inspects the object structure with `describe_object` to ensure your updates match validation rules. If a test script fails due to missing test accounts, Cline uses `create_record` to spin them up instantly. It keeps your workspace and CRM in perfect sync.
Search your entire CRM using the Cline MCP Server
`global_search` scans across accounts, contacts, and opportunities with a single query. Cline uses this tool to find relevant customer context when you ask it to debug integration code. Once it finds the right contact with `list_contacts`, it can pull the exact record details using `get_record`. You get full visibility without switching apps.
Run and export reports autonomously
`run_report` pulls live Salesforce report data directly into your active workspace. Cline can take this raw output, write a custom script to parse it, and generate local charts. It uses `list_reports` to locate the correct report ID first. This lets you automate weekly data extractions without writing boilerplate API integration code.
