Manage Data with the MCP Server

The `list_tables` tool shows you every table in a ToolJet Database. You can then use `query_table` to pull specific data, like running a SELECT statement. This lets your AI agent access live records without needing manual steps. It's perfect for pulling current project metrics directly into the chat output.

Automate Workflows with ToolJet

Need to kick off a process? Use `trigger_workflow` to send an API Webhook, starting a ToolJet Workflow. Your AI client calls this tool, and it handles the rest of the automation. You're not just reading data; you're making changes in the system. This is how your agent actually performs actions.

Insert Live Records into Databases

The `insert_row` tool lets your AI client write new data directly into a ToolJet Database table. You pass it the row details, and the record gets saved. It’s straightforward: tell the agent what to add, and it writes it immediately. This is key for logging or updating status fields.

Common questions about ToolJet MCP in Claude Desktop

You set up the connection in two ways. If you use the native app, you add the server config locally. For claude.ai, you paste the remote HTTPS URL under Settings → Integrations. The MCP Server handles the rest.
Yep. You use `query_table` to run SELECT statements on your database tables. This gives your AI client real-time context, which is way better than static mock data.
Yes. The architecture uses a zero-trust model for the MCP Server connection. You manage authorization via an endpoint token, keeping your database credentials locked down.
The primary data type is structured records from the ToolJet Database tables. Your agent uses these table contents—the actual row data—to generate its response or to feed into another workflow.
You use the `trigger_workflow` tool. Your AI client calls it, pointing at a specific webhook URL. This initiates the full automation process defined in your ToolJet Workflow.
