Script security policies for CI/CD

Write a new rule set using `create_policy` at the start of a pipeline. To clean up after testing, run `delete_policy`. You can always check current rules with `get_policy`. This makes your scripts idempotent and ensures that security controls are consistently applied in staging environments.

Audit API definitions via CLI

Run `list_apis` to output a full manifest of every defined endpoint. If you spot an outdated service, you can then use `create_api_definition` to update it with the correct parameters. It's perfect for generating compliance reports directly in your terminal.

Automate credential rotation and deletion

To rotate keys, script a call to `update_key`. If you need to revoke access completely, run `delete_key` or `delete_policy`. This makes key management part of your automated cleanup routines. These functions are essential for maintaining high security standards in headless environments.

Common questions about Tyk MCP in Claude Code

You use `list_apis` first to audit the current state. If an endpoint is missing, you pipe the necessary variables into a call to `create_api_definition`. This makes your deployment scripts reliable.
Yes. You use `create_policy` or `update_policy` directly in your terminal script. The resulting output lets you confirm that the new security ruleset was applied correctly.
You run `get_key`, passing the required gateway secret. This pulls specific, verifiable data about the credential into your script's output stream.
While there isn't a single 'rollback' tool, you can use `get_policy` to retrieve the existing definition and then re-apply it using `update_policy`, effectively rolling back changes.
This server manages API definitions. These definitions dictate the parameters, paths, and required methods for every service endpoint calling your APIs.
