Automated Employee and Project Data Retrieval with MCP Server
Need to know what a specific contractor is working on? Set the goal, and Cascade handles the rest. It can automatically cross-reference an employee name via `users` against all active projects listed by the `projects` tool. It then figures out which time periods need attention, gathering timesheet details using the `timesheets` function. This means you don't have to manually prompt for every step; Windsurf runs the full sequence autonomously.
Finding Expense Reports by User
Got a list of contractors and need their spending history? Simply ask Cascade to pull reports based on user IDs. It calls the `users` tool first, then passes those resulting identifiers directly into the `expenses` function. This saves you time because Windsurf doesn't wait for confirmation between steps. If your goal is 'Check contractor expenses,' it executes the entire chain immediately.
Viewing Current Client Projects
The `projects` tool gives you a clean, up-to-date list of all active Unanet client projects. You can ask Cascade to filter this list down based on criteria like status or department. If the goal is 'Find all Q3 government contracts,' Windsurf runs the query using the `projects` MCP Server and presents only the relevant data set, keeping your workflow moving.
