Initialize WebVizio Projects using the MCP Server

You can create a project and guarantee its structure using `create_webvizio_project`. To see what's available, call `list_webvizio_projects`. Because of Pydantic validation, you never get unexpected data fields when reading project details via `get_webvizio_project_details`.

Manage Task State with the Pydantic AI framework

The agent handles task state changes cleanly. Use `create_webvizio_task` to make a new item, then use `update_webvizio_task` to move it along its lifecycle. Retrieving specific tasks is easy with `get_webvizio_task_details`. The output will always match the expected Pydantic schema.

Log and Review Feedback Comments

When someone leaves feedback, you use `add_webvizio_comment` to log it. You can then list all comments attached to a task using `list_webvizio_comments`. To get an overall view of the workstream, running `list_webvizio_tasks` shows everything in one place.

Setup guide

Set up WebVizio MCP in Pydantic AI

Prerequisites

  • Python 3.10+ installed
  • pydantic-ai-slim[fastmcp] package
  • Active Vinkius subscription with a valid endpoint token
  1. 1

    Install Pydantic AI with FastMCP

    Run pip install "pydantic-ai-slim[fastmcp]". The FastMCP toolset replaces the deprecated MCPServerHTTP class with full protocol support.

  2. 2

    Configure the FastMCPToolset

    Pass a JSON-style config dict to FastMCPToolset with your Vinkius URL. Replace [YOUR_TOKEN_HERE] with your token from cloud.vinkius.com. Supports Streamable HTTP, SSE, and Stdio transports.

  3. 3

    Create and run your agent

    Pass the toolset to Agent(toolsets=[toolset]) and call agent.run(). Swap openai:gpt-4o for any supported model — Anthropic, Google, Mistral, or Groq.

agent.py
from pydantic_ai import Agent
from pydantic_ai.toolsets.fastmcp import FastMCPToolset

toolset = FastMCPToolset({
    "mcpServers": {
        "webvizio-mcp": {
            "url": "https://edge.vinkius.com/[YOUR_TOKEN_HERE]/mcp"
        }
    }
})

agent = Agent(
    "openai:gpt-4o",
    toolsets=[toolset],
    system_prompt="You have access to WebVizio tools.",
)

result = await agent.run("List recent WebVizio transactions")
print(result.output)

Common questions about WebVizio MCP in Pydantic AI

You run `list_webvizio_projects`. The response is immediately validated against your Python models, so you know the data structure is correct before the agent proceeds.
Absolutely. Using `update_webvizio_task` guarantees that any status change or detail modification conforms to your defined data types, preventing runtime errors.
You get lists for projects (`list_webvizio_projects`), tasks (`list_webvizio_tasks`), and comments (`list_webvizio_comments`). The type-safe nature makes handling all these varied data streams simple.
Yes. You check configured triggers using `list_webvizio_webhooks`. This tool lets your agent know what external systems are connected to this server.
This server touches Project, Task, and Comment data. Everything is validated against Pydantic models, giving you confidence in the integrity of the retrieved data.
