Orchestrating Multi-Agent Roles with the MCP Server

To simulate specialization, you need to know who is available. Use `list_teams` to populate your autonomous operation's member pool. This gives a clear roster of specialized agents ready for assignment. It defines the boundaries and capabilities for each agent before they start collaborating.

Running Complex Operations with YepCode

When the crew needs to act, call `run_process`. This initiates the sequence of actions across multiple agents. The MCP Server handles the execution lifecycle from start to finish. This is how you move beyond simple sequential tasks into true collaborative operations.

Monitoring Agent Activity with CrewAI

The monitoring agent needs real-time status updates. Use `get_process_details` and `list_processes` to provide constant visibility into the overall health of the operation. You'll see exactly where in the workflow the crew is currently working. This continuous feedback loop makes autonomous operations predictable.

Setup guide

Set up YepCode MCP in CrewAI

Prerequisites

  • Python 3.10+ installed
  • crewai package (pip install crewai)
  • Active Vinkius subscription with a valid endpoint token
  1. 1

    Install CrewAI

    Run pip install crewai to install the framework. MCP support is built-in via the mcps parameter.

  2. 2

    Add the MCP URL to your agent

    Pass your Vinkius endpoint directly to the mcps list. Replace [YOUR_TOKEN_HERE] with your token from cloud.vinkius.com. CrewAI handles tool discovery and caching automatically.

  3. 3

    Kick off your crew

    Create a Crew with your agent and tasks. Call crew.kickoff() — the agent will automatically invoke YepCode tools as needed.

crew.py
from crewai import Agent, Task, Crew

agent = Agent(
    role="YepCode Analyst",
    goal="Access and analyze YepCode data via MCP.",
    backstory="Expert analyst with direct YepCode access.",
    mcps=[
        "https://edge.vinkius.com/[YOUR_TOKEN_HERE]/mcp"
    ],
)

task = Task(
    description="List recent YepCode transactions",
    agent=agent,
    expected_output="A summary of recent activity",
)

crew = Crew(agents=[agent], tasks=[task])
result = crew.kickoff()
print(result)

Common questions about YepCode MCP in CrewAI

You use `list_teams` to define the available operational teams and their capabilities. This allows your crew structure to assign specific, relevant agents for each research or analysis task.
You can use both `list_processes` and `list_executions`. The former shows what's available to run, while the latter tracks the history of what has already been attempted.
Yes. Use the `list_secrets` tool to fetch necessary account secrets. The MCP Server ensures these sensitive data types are accessed only when required by the running processes.
Definitely. Calling `run_process` triggers the entire sequence of actions that the crew is designed to handle, moving from planning to execution in one call.
This server touches account secrets. You must use `list_secrets` whenever your autonomous operations need access to sensitive credentials, ensuring they are handled only through the secured MCP flow.
