Your AI does the work. We keep it safe and sound.

No other AI tool gives you this. Your workflow runs in the client you already love, your account stays protected, and you decide what the agent can and cannot do. It is the whole reason to make the switch.

Each Connector lives inside our infrastructure, the same place where your workflow runs. The three things below are already part of it, working quietly in the background so you never have to think about them. Nothing to add, nothing to set up, nothing to worry about.

How Vinkius works: one connection, every tool, in any AI
V8 Isolate01

Each Connector runs inside its own sealed environment.

Each Connector runs inside its own sealed V8 runtime — no access to your files, your system, or other servers. A Connector never sees past its own request.

Kill Switch02

One switch stops every agent. Instantly.

One action deactivates every Connector, revokes every token, and ends every session at once. AI Governance keeps the record.

FinOps per User03

Spending limits that pause instead of surprise.

Every user keeps their own connections and credentials, isolated from everyone else. Anything that would cross your spending limit is held for your approval, not billed.

Three controls, built into the layer your AI connects through.

Complete set · 5 capabilities

The complete City of Amsterdam capability set.

These are the exact actions your AI can choose when you ask it to work with City of Amsterdam.

Capability set01 / 02

01-03

3 capabilities in this set.

Part of 5 available through City of Amsterdam.

  1. 01

    Get waste calendar

Retrieves the waste collection schedule for a specific Amsterdam address. It provides collection days, bring-out windows, and the registered waste streams for that location.

  2. 02

    List waste fractions

Lists all the specific waste streams the city collects. Use this to find the exact names and codes needed to query the waste calendar.

  3. 03

    List container types

Provides a reference list of the different container types and volumes used throughout the city.

Capability set02 / 02

04-05

2 capabilities in this set.

Part of 5 available through City of Amsterdam.

  1. 04

    Find waste containers

Locates public waste containers on Amsterdam streets. It returns details like container owner, status, and location for specific waste streams.

  2. 05

    Get recycling weighings

Accesses weigh-in records from city recycling points. This allows you to check specific locations and their associated fee groups.

One connector, every AI

City of Amsterdam works with the most popular AI clients.

These are the most popular clients, each with a step-by-step guide: one link, set up once, with governance and visibility built in. And because everything runs on the MCP standard, the same connection also works in any other compatible client — nothing to rebuild.

Building your own app? The connector is yours to use.

You don't need a client to put City of Amsterdam to work: the same hosted connection plugs into your own applications and agent code, with the same governance on every request. Build with it, chat with it — one connection for both.

Preview access · not provider authentication

The vk_preview_* token belongs to Vinkius preview infrastructure. It lets Claude discover and display the capabilities of City of Amsterdam, so you can see the experience inside your AI.

It does not authenticate your account with City of Amsterdam. Actions requiring credentials or live account data may not run until you activate the Connector and authorize the service.

Who it's for

Built for the work City of Amsterdam owners hand off.

This MCP is built for anyone needing to interface with Amsterdam's municipal waste infrastructure through an AI agent.

  • 01

    Circular economy analysts

They hand off data gathering tasks to the agent to analyze waste patterns.

  • 02

    Waste operators

They use the agent to quickly verify collection schedules and container locations.

  • 03

    Residents and visitors

They use the agent to find out when to put out their bins at a specific address.

FAQ

Questions City of Amsterdam owners ask.

  • 01

Do I need an API key to use this?

No. This MCP connects directly to the city's open-data platform without requiring you to manage any credentials or keys.

  • 02

Which AI clients can use this MCP?

You can use this with any MCP-compatible client, including Claude, Cursor, Windsurf, and VS Code.

  • 03

    Is the data real-time?

Yes. The data comes directly from the official City of Amsterdam DSO open-data platform.

  • 04

Can I find specific container locations?

Yes. You can use the capability to find public waste containers for specific waste streams across different neighborhoods.

  • 05

Does this work for any address in Amsterdam?

Yes. You can query the waste calendar using any valid Dutch postal code within the city's service area.

  • 06

Do I need an API key?

No. All endpoints of the city's DSO open-data platform used by this integration are public (OPENBAAR) and work with zero credentials. The city has announced it may introduce a free key regime in the future; today the APIs are keyless.

  • 07

Where does the data come from?

From the city of Amsterdam's official open-data platform (api.data.amsterdam.nl/v1): the afvalwijzer (waste calendar), huishoudelijkafval v2 (fractions, containers, container types) and recyclepunten (recycling point weighings) dataset services.

  • 08

Does the waste calendar return exact pickup dates?

It returns the collection days registered per address and waste stream (e.g. "Dinsdag" = Tuesday) plus the bring-out window and collection area. The city publishes calendar schedules per stream rather than a per-house date, so treat the days-of-week as the collection schedule for that address.

  • 09

    Which areas are covered?

All of the city of Amsterdam. The waste calendar is registered per address (postal code + street + house number); containers and recycling points carry their own location data, including EPSG:28999 (RD New) coordinates.
