Short answer
How can I test my chatbot's logic using an AI client?
Use the chat_with_bot tool to send messages directly to your bot from your AI interface. This lets you see exactly how the bot handles specific inputs without leaving your chat window. You'll get immediate feedback on whether the programmed flows are working.
Testing outcomes
What you get from testing
Running these tests gives you clear visibility into your bot's behavior.
LOGIC
Verify decision paths
The AI sends messages to the bot to see if it follows the correct branches. You'll know if a specific trigger leads to the right response.
ACCURACY
Check response quality
You can evaluate if the bot's answers match your requirements. This helps catch hallucinations or incorrect information early.
FLOW
Test conversation loops
The AI can simulate a back-and-forth dialogue. This confirms that the bot doesn't get stuck in repetitive loops or dead ends.
HUMAN
Identify manual fixes
When the bot fails a logic test, you'll see exactly where the programming breaks. This tells you which parts of the logic need a human to rewrite.
The workflow
What your AI does when you start testing.
Your AI acts as the tester, interacting with the bot just like a real user would.
Initiate contact
Your AI client uses the connection to reach out to the target bot.
chat_with_botSend test inputs
The AI sends specific phrases or questions to trigger certain bot behaviors.
chat_with_botAnalyze responses
The AI reads the bot's reply and compares it against your expected logic.
chat_with_botReport failures
The AI identifies where the bot's response deviated from the intended path.

Common questions about testing
- 01
Can the AI change my bot's code?
No. The AI can only send messages and read responses. You have to manually update your bot's logic in your own environment.
- 02
Does this work with any chatbot?
It works with any bot that BotGenuity can interface with. Check the Connector page for a full list of supported platforms.
- 03
Can the AI delete my bot's conversation history?
No. The tools provided only allow for sending and receiving messages. The AI cannot delete or modify your existing data.
- 04
Will this test affect my live users?
If you are testing against a live bot that real users are interacting with, your test messages will appear in that same chat. It's best to test on a staging bot.
- 05
Can I automate these tests?
Yes. Once connected, you can instruct your AI client to run through a series of test cases one after another.
