Short answer

How can I check my roadmap progress with AI?

Your AI uses the Craft.io MCP to pull real-time status and metadata for any epic or feature you name. You'll get a clear view of your roadmap health through the following breakdown.

Roadmap visibility outcomes.

Where your data lands.

The AI pulls specific information from Craft.io to provide these four views.

STATUS

Real-time progress

The AI uses list_items to find your epics and show where they stand. You get an immediate snapshot of completion levels.

DETAILS

Deep feature metadata

By calling get_item, your agent pulls specific attributes for a single feature. This includes custom fields and ownership info.

HEALTH

Roadmap gap analysis

Ask your AI to find stalled epics or features missing key data. It scans your items to highlight where the plan is lagging.

HUMAN

Manual roadmap edits

The AI only reads your data. You still need to log into Craft.io to change statuses or move items on the board.

FAQ

How this task behaves

  • 01

Can the AI change the status of an epic?

No. This MCP only allows the AI to read and list items. You must update statuses manually in Craft.io.

  • 02

Does the AI see all my Craft.io data?

The AI only sees the data it retrieves through the specific tools provided. It doesn't have a blanket view of your entire workspace unless you ask it to list items.

  • 03

Can I use this with Cursor?

Yes, any MCP-compatible client like Claude, Cursor, or Windsurf can use this once connected.

  • 04

Will the AI delete any of my features?

No. The available tools are strictly for getting and listing items. There are no tools for deleting or modifying data.

  • 05

How does the AI find the right epic?

It uses the list_items tool to find matches based on the names or IDs you provide in your prompt.
