How to analyze occupancy movement with your AI

Connect IndoorAtlas to your AI client to turn raw positioning data into movement patterns. Once connected, your agent handles the heavy lifting of data retrieval and pattern recognition.

Ask AI about this page

Short answer

How can I use AI to track how people move through my building?

Your AI accesses historical positioning sessions and specific timestamped traces to reconstruct movement paths. It identifies bottlenecks, dwell times, and flow patterns by processing the raw location data. You get a clear picture of spatial usage.

Spatial insights

What you'll discover

The AI processes raw traces to give you these specific outcomes.

FLOW

Identify traffic bottlenecks

The AI looks at session data to find where people cluster or slow down. You'll see exactly which corridors or zones cause congestion.

DWELL

Pinpoint high-interest zones

By analyzing timestamped traces, your agent finds where people linger. This shows you which areas are actually being used versus just passed through.

TRENDS

Spot temporal patterns

Your AI compares different sessions to find daily or weekly shifts in movement. It highlights how occupancy changes based on time or day.

HUMAN

Plan physical changes

The AI provides the data, but you decide how to rearrange furniture or signage. You use the analyzed traces to make informed layout decisions.

The workflow

What your AI does when the data arrives.

The AI acts as a data analyst that bridges the gap between raw sensor logs and actionable insights.

  1. Gather session logs

The AI first identifies all available movement records within your specified timeframe.

    list_positioning_sessions
  2. Extract movement paths

It pulls the specific coordinate and time data for individual users or groups.

    get_session_data
  3. Calculate dwell times

The agent compares timestamps to see how long a person stayed in a specific zone.

    get_session_data
  4. Summarize findings

The AI translates the raw coordinates into a readable report of movement trends.

FAQ

How the movement analysis works

  • 01

Can the AI change my indoor positioning settings?

No. The AI can only read session and trace data. It cannot modify your IndoorAtlas configuration or sensor settings.

  • 02

Does the AI store my movement data?

No. The AI only accesses the data through the tools when you ask a question. It doesn't create a separate database of your users' movements.

  • 03

Can I ask for real-time movement updates?

The AI works with historical sessions and traces provided by the tools. It doesn't provide a live, real-time video feed or live map.

  • 04

How does the AI know where people are?

It uses the timestamped traces and positioning data retrieved via the IndoorAtlas tools.

  • 05

Can the AI delete old sessions?

No. There are no tools available to delete or modify existing positioning sessions.
