Short answer
How can I use AI to build Moodle courses?
You tell your AI what courses you need, and it handles the category creation, course setup, and student enrollment. You get a fully organized Moodle site without manual clicking. Here is what you get.
The results
What you get out of it
The AI handles the heavy lifting in Moodle so you can focus on teaching.
STRUCTURE
Organized course categories
The AI uses list_categories to see your current setup and then builds new hierarchies. You get a clean, logical folder structure for your content.
CREATION
Instant course deployment
Instead of filling out forms, you just describe the course. The AI creates the course shells directly in your Moodle instance.
ACCESS
Automated student enrollment
Once courses exist, your AI adds users to them. This removes the need to manually manage enrollment lists.
REVIEW
Human oversight required
The AI builds the structure, but you decide if the course names and categories look right. You remain the final editor for all course content.
The workflow
What your AI does when the request arrives.
The AI translates your natural language instructions into direct Moodle actions.
Map the hierarchy
The AI checks your existing Moodle setup to ensure new courses land in the right place. It identifies where to add new sections.
list_categoriesBuild the courses
The AI generates the actual course entries based on your descriptions. It sets up the basic course shells in your system.
create_coursesAdd students
After the courses are live, the AI links specific users to their assigned classes. This happens instantly via chat.
enrol_usersVerify the setup
The AI confirms the courses and enrollments were successful. You then check the Moodle dashboard to see the finished work.

- 01
Can the AI write the actual course content?
No. The AI creates the course shells and the structure, but you must provide and upload the actual lessons and materials.

- 05
How does the AI know which category to use?
