Short answer
Can I approve Percy builds using my AI?
Yes. You can list snapshots, check build details, and approve individual snapshots or entire builds through your agent. This lets you manage visual regression results without switching back to the Percy dashboard.
Where every change lands.
The outcomes of your review
Your agent handles the technical execution while you make the visual calls.
UPDATED
New visual baselines
When you approve a snapshot, your agent updates the baseline. This ensures future tests compare against your latest intended design.
STABLE
Clean build history
Approving builds keeps your Percy dashboard organized. Your agent clears out pending reviews so your CI/CD pipeline stays green.
HUMAN
Manual visual checks
The AI cannot see the pixels. You still need to look at the visual diffs in Percy before telling your agent to approve them.
SYNCED
Real-time status
Your agent pulls the latest build data. You always work with the most recent snapshot information available in Percy.
The workflow
What your AI does when a build arrives.
The agent acts as your interface to the Percy API to move builds through your pipeline.
Fetch build data
Your agent pulls the specific details of a pending visual test to see what changed.
get_build_detailsIdentify changes
The agent looks through the available snapshots in a build to find the specific diffs.
list_snapshotsApprove snapshots
Once you confirm a change looks right, the agent marks that specific snapshot as approved.

How the Percy Connector behaves
- 01
Can the AI approve builds automatically?
No. The AI only performs the approval action after you explicitly tell it to do so in chat.
- 02
Can the AI fix CSS issues?
No. The AI can only approve or reject snapshots in Percy. It cannot modify your source code or CSS files.
- 03
Does the AI see the visual diffs?
No. The AI interacts with the Percy API to manage build states, but it does not 'see' the images. You must view the diffs in Percy yourself.
- 04
Can I undo an approval?
No. The tools provided only allow for approving snapshots and builds. There is no tool to revert an approval once it is sent.
- 05
How do I find which builds are pending?
You can ask your agent to list the details of recent builds or snapshots to identify what needs your attention.
