Short answer
Can I use AI to clean up my Raindrop.io bookmarks?
Yes. You can tell your AI to merge duplicate folders, rename tags, or create new collections based on your instructions. This turns a cluttered list of links into a structured library.
The end result.
Where your library lands.
Your AI handles the heavy lifting of restructuring your data.
STRUCTURE
New organized folders
The AI uses create_collection to build new homes for your links. You get a logical hierarchy instead of a single long list.
CLEANUP
Merged collections
If you have redundant folders, the AI uses merge_collections to combine them. This removes the clutter from your sidebar.
TAGS
Standardized labeling
The AI uses rename_merge_tags to fix inconsistent naming. Your tags stay uniform across your entire library.
HUMAN
Manual review needed
The AI won't delete your data without you asking. You decide which collections are actually useless before any deletion happens.
The workflow
What your AI does when <the thing arrives>.
The AI acts as a librarian for your bookmarks, executing structural changes based on your intent.
Grouping links
Tell your AI to group specific links into a new folder. It builds the container for you instantly.
create_collectionConsolidating folders
When you realize you have multiple folders for the same topic, the AI pulls them into one.
merge_collectionsFixing tag sprawl
The AI cleans up your metadata by unifying similar tags under a single name.
rename_merge_tagsUpdating metadata
You can change the names or properties of existing collections to better fit your current projects.

How the organization task behaves.
- 01
Can the AI delete my bookmarks automatically?
No. The AI only uses the delete_collection tool to remove entire folders if you explicitly tell it to. It does not delete individual links.
- 02
Will it mess up my existing tags?
It only changes tags if you specifically ask it to rename or merge them. Your existing structure stays exactly as it is otherwise.
- 03
Can I undo a merge if I change my mind?
No. Once the AI merges collections, the original separate folders are gone. You should verify the command before sending it.
- 04
Does the AI see my private notes in Raindrop?
The AI reads the data necessary to perform the requested actions, such as collection names and tags, to fulfill your commands.
- 05
Can the AI create folders inside other folders?
The AI can create new collections, but it follows the existing structure provided by the Raindrop.io API.
