How to reduce vocabulary for topic modeling with your AI

Connect this MCP to your AI client to clean up messy text data. Once connected, your agent handles the heavy lifting of normalizing words so your clustering models actually work.

Short answer

How do I shrink unique word counts for better topic modeling?

Use the Stemmer & Lemmatizer Engine to collapse different forms of the same word into a single base form. This reduces noise in your dataset and makes themes much easier for clustering algorithms to spot. You'll see how the AI handles this normalization below.

The outcomes of normalization.

Where your data lands.

Cleaning your text leads to these specific outcomes.

CLEAN DATA

Reduced word noise

The AI uses stem_text_corpus to strip suffixes and prefixes. You get a tighter list of unique tokens to work with.

BETTER CLUSTERS

Clearer thematic groupings

By grouping 'running' and 'ran' together, your clustering models find stronger patterns. This prevents fragmented topics.

HUMAN REVIEW

Manual validation needed

The AI handles the bulk processing, but you still need to check if the stemming is too aggressive for your specific domain.

READY TO MODEL

Optimized input sets

Once the corpus is processed, the data is ready for immediate ingestion into your topic modeling scripts.

The workflow

What your AI does when the text arrives.

The AI processes your raw text through a specific sequence to prepare it for analysis.

  1. Text ingestion

Your agent reads the raw text files or strings you provide to begin the normalization process.

  2. Word reduction

The engine identifies word roots and strips away unnecessary morphological variations.

  3. Vocabulary shrinking

The AI collapses the unique word count by mapping related terms to a single representative form.

  4. Output preparation

The processed, reduced corpus is formatted so your downstream clustering tools can read it easily.

FAQ

How the engine behaves

  • 01

Will this delete my original text files?

No. The AI only reads your data to create a processed version; it never modifies or deletes your source files.

  • 02

Can the AI decide which words are important?

No. The engine follows mathematical rules for stemming and lemmatization. It doesn't perform semantic importance ranking.

  • 03

Does it work on any text format?

It works on text provided through the stem_text_corpus tool, such as strings or files your agent can access.

  • 04

Can I undo the stemming once it's done?

No. Once the vocabulary is reduced, the original word forms are gone from that specific output. You should always keep your raw data separate.

  • 05

    Does it handle stop words?

The tool focuses on reducing word forms through stemming and lemmatization. It doesn't automatically remove stop words unless you ask your agent to do that separately.
