Short answer
Can I use my AI to manage SurrealDB records?
Yes. You can tell your agent to create, update, or delete specific records and perform bulk updates using natural language. You'll get direct control over your data through simple conversation.
Data outcomes
Where your commands land
Every request you send to your agent results in one of these four outcomes.
NEW DATA
Records created
Your agent adds new entries to your tables based on your descriptions. It handles the insertion logic so you don't have to.
UPDATES
Records modified
Change specific values or update entire sets of data at once. Your agent applies these changes to the existing records immediately.
CLEANUP
Records deleted
Remove single entries or wipe entire tables when they are no longer needed. The AI executes the removal based on your specific criteria.
HUMAN
Manual review
Complex structural changes or sensitive schema modifications stay with you. The AI won't touch the core database architecture without your direct oversight.
The workflow
What your AI does when a command arrives.
Your agent translates your intent into direct database operations.
Add entries

How the SurrealDB Connector behaves
- 01
Can the AI change my database schema?
No. The AI can only manage records through the provided tools; it cannot alter tables, indexes, or the underlying schema structure.
- 02
Will the AI delete everything if I'm not careful?
The AI only executes the specific delete commands you authorize. It cannot perform a delete_all operation unless you explicitly tell it to clear everything.
- 03
Does the AI need to know my database password?
No. You connect via Vinkius, which manages your credentials securely. Your AI client never sees your raw login details.
- 04
Can I perform complex joins using natural language?
No. The current tools focus on CRUD operations like creating, updating, and deleting records. It does not have a tool for running arbitrary complex SurrealQL join queries.
- 05
Can the AI create multiple records at once?
Yes. You can instruct the AI to create multiple records, and it will use the appropriate creation tools to fulfill the request.
