Short answer
How do I convert a bitmap to a DXF for CNC?
Your AI uses the vectorization tool to trace the outlines of your raster image and convert them into mathematical paths. You then download the resulting DXF file to load directly into your CNC or laser cutting software.
The final outputs
Where your files land
Once the conversion finishes, you'll have these specific results.
VECTOR
Clean DXF files
The AI generates precise vector paths from your pixels. These files are ready for immediate import into CAM software.
ASSETS
Downloadable paths
You get direct access to the converted files. The AI provides a way to grab the finished vector data for your local machine.
REFINEMENT
Human review needed
Complex or noisy images might need manual path adjustments. You'll need to check the nodes in your CAD software before cutting.
INPUT
Raster to vector
The agent processes your JPG or PNG files. It turns messy pixel data into clean, scalable geometry.
The workflow
What your AI does when the image arrives.
The agent handles the heavy lifting of tracing and file generation.
Trace the image
The agent analyzes the pixel density and color boundaries to find the edges of your drawing.
vectorize_imageGenerate paths
The AI converts those edges into a series of connected vector points.
vectorize_imagePackage the file
The agent wraps the vector data into a standard DXF format compatible with CNC controllers.
vectorize_imageDeliver the file
The agent makes the final vector file available for you to save to your computer.

How the conversion works
- 01
Can the AI fix blurry or low-resolution photos?
No. The AI traces the pixels that exist. If the source image is too blurry, the resulting vector paths will be inaccurate.
- 02
Will the AI automatically adjust my toolpaths for the CNC?
No. The AI only creates the vector geometry. You must handle tool compensation, feed rates, and paths in your own CAM software.
- 03
What file formats can I use as input?
You can provide standard bitmap formats like PNG and JPG for the agent to process.
- 04
Does the AI save my images to its own database?
No. The AI processes the images you provide to perform the conversion and then hands the files back to you.
- 05
Can I get SVG files instead of DXF?
The current tools are specifically configured to output DXF files for machine compatibility.
