How to manage your document index with your AI

Connect Verba to your AI client to control your knowledge base through conversation. You no longer need to manually upload or delete files to update what your agent knows.

Ask AI about this page

Short answer

Can I update my knowledge base via chat?

Yes. You can add new documents or delete outdated ones by simply telling your AI what to do. This keeps your index current without leaving your chat interface.

Index outcomes

Where your data lives

These are the ways your AI keeps your knowledge base accurate.

ADD

New knowledge added

The AI pulls in new files you specify. Your agent immediately gains access to the information in those documents.

REMOVE

Outdated data cleared

The AI removes specific files from the index. This prevents your agent from using old or incorrect information.

VIEW

Current index check

The AI lists everything currently in your knowledge base. You can see exactly what your agent is reading at any time.

HUMAN

Manual review needed

You decide which files are relevant. The AI waits for your command before making any changes to the index.

The workflow

What your AI does when <the thing arrives>.

The AI acts as the bridge between your chat commands and the Verba document store.

  1. Check the index

Your AI looks at the existing list of files to see what is already available.

    list_knowledge_documents
  2. Add new files

When you provide a new document, the AI adds it to the knowledge base.

    add_knowledge_document
  3. Remove old files

If a document is no longer useful, the AI deletes it from the index.

    delete_knowledge_document
  4. Confirm changes

The AI verifies the current state of the index after an update.

FAQ

How this task behaves

  • 01

Can the AI delete files on its own?

No. The AI only deletes documents when you explicitly tell it to do so.

  • 02

Does the AI edit the content inside my documents?

No. This connector only adds, lists, or removes entire documents. It cannot change the text within a file.

  • 03

How do I know if a document was added successfully?

You can ask the AI to list the documents to verify the new file is present in the index.

  • 04

Can I add a folder of documents at once?

No. You must add documents individually through the chat commands.

  • 05

Will deleting a document affect my other files?

No. Deleting a document only removes that specific file from the index.
