Short answer
How can I refund or void a transaction with my AI?
You tell your AI client which transaction needs fixing, and it uses Authorize.net to either void a pending charge or refund a settled one. You'll get immediate confirmation once the correction is processed.
Transaction outcomes.
Where your corrections land.
The AI handles the specific action required based on the payment status.
VOID
Cancel pending charges
If the money hasn't moved yet, the AI voids the transaction. This stops the payment before it settles.
REFUND
Return settled funds
For completed payments, the AI issues a refund. The funds go back to the customer's original payment method.
CONFIRM
Get status updates
The AI reports back the result of the action. You'll know exactly if the void or refund succeeded.
MANUAL
Human intervention
If the transaction ID is wrong or the status doesn't allow a void, the AI stops. You'll need to check the details yourself.
