How to automate system alerts with your AI

Connect your agent to an Azure Service Bus Topic. Once connected, your AI sends messages to your infrastructure to trigger immediate responses.

Ask AI about this page

Short answer

How can I use my AI to trigger system reboots or alerts?

Your AI uses the publish_message tool to send data payloads to an Azure Service Bus Topic. This lets your agent initiate automated responses like service restarts or error handling. Here is how the logic works.

Where alerts land.

Automated outcomes.

The AI directs payloads to specific topics based on the issue it finds.

REBOOT

System recovery

The AI sends a high-priority message to a specific topic. This triggers your existing scripts to restart a service or node.

LOGGING

Event tracking

The AI publishes error details to a topic. Your monitoring tools pick up these messages to build a history of system behavior.

NOTIFY

Human alerts

The AI sends a payload to a topic that feeds into your alerting stack. You get notified when the AI identifies a critical failure.

TRIAGE

Manual review

For ambiguous issues, the AI sends a message to a triage topic. You review the payload before deciding whether to trigger a fix.

The workflow

What your AI does when an issue arrives.

The AI acts as the bridge between its reasoning and your infrastructure.

  1. Identify the fault

Your agent examines logs or system state to decide if an action is needed.

    publish_message
  2. Build the payload

The AI structures the necessary data, like device IDs or error codes, for the message.

    publish_message
  3. Dispatch the message

The AI pushes the structured data to your Azure Service Bus Topic.

    publish_message
  4. Confirm delivery

The agent verifies the message was successfully sent to the bus.

  • Send a high-priority message to the 'system-reboot' topic because the web server is unresponsive.

  • Publish an error payload to the 'critical-alerts' topic regarding the database connection timeout.

  • Trigger a message to the 'maintenance-queue' topic to schedule a routine service restart.

  • Send a diagnostic payload to the 'telemetry-topic' for the failing microservice.

FAQ

How this task behaves

  • 01

Can the AI read messages from my Service Bus?

No. This connector only uses the publish_message tool to send data. It cannot pull or listen to messages.

  • 02

Will the AI delete messages in my topic?

No. The AI can only publish new messages. It cannot delete, move, or modify existing messages in your Azure environment.

  • 03

Does the AI decide which topic to use?

Yes. You tell the AI which topic to target in your prompt, and it uses the tool to send the payload there.

  • 04

Can the AI perform the reboot itself?

No. The AI sends the command to the Service Bus. The actual reboot is performed by your own downstream systems that listen to that topic.

  • 05

Can the AI change my Azure settings?

No. The AI only interacts with the Service Bus Topic via the publish_message tool. It cannot change your Azure configuration or infrastructure settings.
