How to audit infrastructure assets with your AI

Connect Halo Security to your AI client to map your external attack surface. Once connected, your agent handles the scanning and data gathering.

Ask AI about this page

Short answer

How can I audit my infrastructure with AI?

Your AI uses Halo Security to pull lists of open ports, SSL certificates, and the specific technologies running on your network. You get a structured view of your footprint to find vulnerabilities. This breakdown shows how the data flows from the scan to your chat.

Audit outcomes

Where your audit data lands.

The AI organizes the raw scan results into these specific categories.

NETWORK

Open port maps

The AI identifies every active port it finds. You get a clean list of entry points to check for unauthorized access.

SECURITY

Certificate status

Your agent pulls all SSL certificate data. It highlights which ones are expiring or misconfigured.

STACK

Technology inventory

The AI catalogs the software and services running on your assets. This helps you spot outdated or unknown tech.

HUMAN

Manual review

The AI flags suspicious findings for you. You decide which vulnerabilities actually require a fix or a patch.

The workflow

What your AI does when the scan starts.

The AI acts as your eyes on the network, pulling raw data through the Halo Security MCP.

  1. Map entry points

The agent scans your target range to find every listening service.

    list_open_ports
  2. Check encryption

It gathers details on all active SSL certificates found during the scan.

    list_certificates
  3. Identify software

The AI looks at the fingerprints of your services to see what is actually running.

    list_technologies
  4. Summarize findings

The agent compares the port, certificate, and tech data to find mismatches or risks.

FAQ

How the audit behaves

  • 01

Can the AI change my firewall settings?

No. The AI can only read data from your infrastructure. It cannot modify ports, rules, or any network configurations.

  • 02

Does the AI delete any discovered assets?

No. The AI is read-only. It identifies what exists but has no capability to remove or alter anything it finds.

  • 03

How often does the AI refresh the scan data?

The AI pulls fresh data every time you run a command using the tools. It does not run continuous background scans unless you tell it to.

  • 04

Can I use this to scan external websites I don't own?

You should only use these tools on infrastructure you have explicit permission to audit.

  • 05

What happens if a port is hidden?

The AI can only report on what the tools actually find. If a service is properly hidden or uses non-standard obfuscation, the AI won't see it.
