How to run SQL queries on logs with your AI

Connect Logflare to your AI client to turn natural language questions into precise SQL queries against your log data.

Ask AI about this page

Short answer

How can I query my logs using AI?

Your AI uses the Logflare MCP to translate your questions into SQL. It then executes those queries against your BigQuery or PostgreSQL log stores to pull specific error patterns or metrics. You get the raw data or summarized results directly in your chat.

Analysis outcomes

What you get from log analysis

The AI handles the syntax so you can focus on the findings.

DATA

Instant error patterns

The AI scans your logs for specific status codes or stack traces. You get a list of recurring issues without writing a single line of SQL.

METRICS

Usage trends

Ask about request volumes or latency spikes. The AI queries your log data to provide the numbers you need.

REPORTS

Summarized findings

Instead of a wall of text, the AI interprets the query results. It gives you a plain English summary of what the data actually shows.

HUMAN

Manual verification

The AI provides the query it used. You can review the SQL or run it yourself in your own console if you need to verify the logic.

The workflow

What your AI does when the query arrives.

The AI acts as the bridge between your question and the Logflare database.

  1. Translate intent

The AI reads your natural language request and determines which log fields are needed to answer it.

    management_query
  2. Generate SQL

It writes a valid SQL statement tailored to your specific BigQuery or PostgreSQL schema.

    management_query
  3. Execute query

The AI sends the command to Logflare to fetch the matching log entries or aggregated metrics.

    management_query
  4. Interpret results

The AI takes the raw data returned from the database and explains the patterns or numbers to you.

FAQ

How the log querying works

  • 01

Can the AI delete my logs?

No. The tool only allows for querying and reading data. It cannot perform delete or drop operations.

  • 02

Does the AI write the SQL for me?

Yes. It generates the SQL based on your question and the schema it sees in Logflare.

  • 03

Can I edit the SQL after it's generated?

The AI generates the query, but you can always ask it to modify the query if the results aren't what you expected.

  • 04

Can the AI change my database schema?

No. The AI is restricted to read-only query operations through the management_query tool.

  • 05

Does this work with any log provider?

This specific connector is built for Logflare. It works with the BigQuery and PostgreSQL backends supported by Logflare.
