Short answer
How can I use my AI to label text sentiment and topics?
Your AI calls your custom MonkeyLearn classifiers to assign labels to incoming text. You'll get specific sentiment scores and category tags for every piece of text you process. This setup turns raw text into structured data.
The outcomes.
Where your data lands.
The AI processes text through your specific classifiers to produce these results.
SENTIMENT
Emotional tone detected
The AI identifies if text is positive, negative, or neutral. You get clear sentiment labels for every input.
TOPIC
Subject matter identified
The AI sorts text into your custom categories. This keeps your data organized by subject automatically.
TAGS
Specific metadata added
The AI pulls specific tags from your classifiers. You can use these to filter or group your results later.
HUMAN
Manual review needed
If the AI returns low confidence or no matching tags, you decide how to handle the text. The AI won't force a label that doesn't fit.
The workflow
What your AI does when text arrives.
The AI acts as the bridge between your raw text and your MonkeyLearn models.
Find your models
The AI looks through your MonkeyLearn account to see which classifiers you have set up and ready to use.
list_classifiersCheck available tags
The AI identifies the specific labels and categories available within your chosen classifiers.
list_classifier_tagsRun the analysis
The AI sends your text to the specific classifier to get the sentiment or topic results.
classify_textDeliver the labels
The AI presents the resulting sentiment and category tags directly in your chat interface.

How this task behaves.
- 01
Can the AI create new classifiers in MonkeyLearn?
No. The AI can only use the classifiers you have already created and configured in your MonkeyLearn account.
- 02
Will the AI change my existing labels?
No. The AI only reads your classifiers and tags to perform the classification. It cannot edit or delete your MonkeyLearn settings.
- 03
How does the AI know which classifier to use?
You tell the AI which classifier to use in your prompt, or it can list your available classifiers to help you decide.
- 04
Can the AI automatically save these results to a database?
The AI can read the results and show them to you, but it cannot write data back to MonkeyLearn or other external databases itself.
- 05
What happens if the text doesn't match any topic?
The AI will report the results based on what the classifier returns. If no tags match, it will tell you that no classification was found.
