Ask AI about this page

Short answer

How can I use my AI to respond to Chatter posts?

You can tell your AI to scan Chatter for specific topics or users and then use it to post comments or threaded replies. This keeps your discussions moving without manual typing. Here is how the process works.

Discussion outcomes

Where your replies land

The AI handles the drafting and posting based on your instructions.

ACTIVE

Instant replies

The AI uses the post data to write a response and posts it immediately. This keeps threads active while you focus on other tasks.

REVIEW

Human-in-the-loop

You can ask the AI to draft a reply first. You read the text, make edits, and then tell the AI to post it when you're ready.

MONITOR

Thread tracking

The AI watches specific posts for new activity. It can alert you or respond when certain keywords or users appear.

PAUSE

Manual control

The AI won't post anything unless you explicitly tell it to. You stay in total control of what actually hits the Chatter feed.

The workflow

What your AI does when a post needs a reply.

The AI acts as a participant in your Salesforce environment.

  1. Identify the post

Your agent looks through your Chatter feed to find the exact post or thread you want to address.

  2. Draft the response

The AI reads the context of the existing conversation to write a reply that makes sense for the topic.

  3. Post the reply

Once you approve the text, the AI sends the comment or threaded reply directly to the Salesforce post.

    sf_comment_on_post
  4. Confirm delivery

The AI verifies the comment was successfully added to the thread so you know the task is done.

FAQ

How this task behaves

  • 01

Can the AI delete my Chatter posts?

No. The AI only has the capability to post comments and replies. It cannot delete or edit existing posts.

  • 02

Will the AI post replies automatically without me seeing them?

The AI only performs actions when you give it a command. You can prevent accidental posts by asking it to 'draft' the reply first for your review.

  • 03

Can the AI reply to private Chatter groups?

Yes. If your AI client has access to the group through the Connector, it can read and reply to those posts just like public ones.

  • 04

Does the AI need to be logged into Salesforce in my browser?

No. Once you connect the MCP, the connection is handled through the Vinkius host. You don't need an active Salesforce session open in your browser for the AI to work.

  • 05

Can the AI create new Chatter groups?

No. The current tools only allow for reading posts and adding comments or replies to existing threads.
