  What authentication does this MCP use?

  It uses the same OAuth2 access token as the Patreon creator subscriptions MCP. You provide the Bearer token from your Patreon app credentials.

  Can I see shipping addresses for any member?

  No, shipping addresses are within the creator scope. They are only accessible if you have the proper authorization for that campaign.

  Does this work with any AI client?

  Yes, it works with any MCP-compatible client including Claude, Cursor, and Windsurf.

  How do I find a user if I don't have their ID?

  You can use the get_user_by_vanity capability to find a user ID using their vanity URL slug.

  Yes, this is a complementary capability that focuses on the deeper membership layer, such as tier details, shipping addresses, and funding goals.

  Do I need the same access token as the Patreon creator subscriptions MCP?

  Yes. same OAuth2 Bearer token, same scopes. The difference is the endpoint layer: that MCP covers campaigns/members/posts/identity/webhooks CRUD; this one covers the deeper tier, address, user profile and goals layer with no capability overlap.

  Why are fields URL-encoded with brackets?

  Patreon API v2 uses the JSON:API specification: fields[member]=full_name is the standard sparse fieldset syntax, and brackets must be URL-encoded (fields%5Bmember%5D=full_name). The MCP handles the encoding automatically.
