  How does this MCP handle part substitutions?

  It does not assume any part is interchangeable. It only validates a substitution if you explicitly provide a substitution list and the agent checks it against your constraints.

  Yes. It reconciles physical stock against existing reservations to determine the net available quantity.

  How are supplier lead times used?

  The MCP uses supplier data to calculate the earliest possible date a part will be available for a maintenance task.

  What happens if a part is out of stock?

  The capability identifies the shortage and uses supplier lead times to provide the earliest date the part can be acquired.

  How does the planner determine if a part is available?

  The planner calculates net availability by taking the physical stock and subtracting all existing reservations. A part is only considered available if the net available quantity meets the requirement.

  Can the capability suggest part substitutions?

  The capability will only consider substitutions that are explicitly provided in the allowedSubstitutions list for a specific requirement. It will never assume two parts are interchangeable.

  What happens if a part is below the Minimum Order Quantity (MOQ)?

  If a shortage is identified and the required quantity is less than the supplier's MOQ, the plan_maintenance_readiness capability will suggest ordering the full MOQ amount.
