  How do I get access to the maritime data?

  You need a Datalastic API key, which you can obtain at datalastic.com. Once you have it, you can add it to this MCP on Vinkius.

  You can use this with any MCP-compatible client, including Claude, Cursor, Windsurf, and VS Code.

  Can I track the historical movement of a ship?

  Yes, the capability allows you to retrieve historical AIS tracking paths and location data for specific vessels.

  Yes, you can search for ports by name or country and retrieve their exact coordinates and UN/LOCODEs.

  Yes, you can use the capability to find all active vessels currently located within a specific circular radius.

  MMSI stands for Maritime Mobile Service Identity. It is a unique 9-digit number used to identify a vessel's radio equipment and is the primary identifier for AIS tracking.

  How can I find the official code for a port?

  Use the search_ports_by_country capability with the 2-letter ISO country code. The response will list ports in that country along with their official UN/LOCODEs.
