  How does the MCP handle authentication?

  The MCP uses your X-SPACE-AUTH-KEY to mint short-lived JWTs via the Technical Token Manager. These tokens are cached and automatically refreshed to ensure uninterrupted access.

  You can access any IoT time series data exposed by your assets, such as temperature, vibration, and pressure, provided they are defined in your asset types.

  Yes, the list_events capability supports MDSP filter queries, allowing you to filter by type, timestamp, or other parameters.

  No, the MCP manages the technical token minting and refreshing process for you once you provide the initial credentials.

  How do I get the X-SPACE-AUTH-KEY?

  In the Insights Hub Operator Cockpit: register your application, then create its service credentials. the cockpit generates the base64-encoded authorization key. It identifies your app at the Technical Token Manager, which issues short-lived JWTs scoped to your app's roles.

  Which gateway URL should I use?

  It depends on your plan/region: MindSphere-classic plans use https://gateway.eu1.mindsphere.io (also eu2, us1); Xcelerator plans use https://gateway.eu1.siemens.app. Check your Operator Cockpit. it shows the exact gateway for your tenant.
