Odoo Sales MCP Tools for Cursor (8)

These 8 tools become available when you connect Odoo Sales to Cursor via MCP:

01

odoo_confirm_order

order, transitioning it from "draft"/"sent" to "sale" state. This triggers downstream operations like delivery order creation and inventory reservation. Use when the user says a quote is approved or wants to confirm an order. Confirm a draft quotation, converting it into an active sales order ready for fulfillment

02

odoo_create_quotation

order in "draft" state with the specified customer and order lines. The partnerId must be an existing res.partner ID. Lines must be a JSON array where each element has product_id (existing product.template ID), product_uom_qty (quantity), and price_unit (unit price). Example lines: [{"product_id": 5, "product_uom_qty": 2, "price_unit": 100.00}] Create a new quotation for a customer with product lines, quantities, and unit prices

03

odoo_get_order_lines

Use when the user wants to see what products are in an order, verify quantities, or check line-level pricing. Get the individual line items (products, quantities, prices) of a specific sales order

04

odoo_get_sales_order

order record with all key fields: customer, status, amounts, salesperson, dates. Use after finding an order via list/search to drill down into its details. The ID is the numeric Odoo database ID (not the order number like S00042). Get the complete details of a specific sales order or quotation by its numeric ID

05

odoo_list_pricelists

Use when the user asks about pending quotes, proposals awaiting approval, or the current quotation pipeline. List all draft and sent quotations in Odoo that have not yet been confirmed as sales orders

07

odoo_list_sales_orders

Odoo Sales + Cursor FAQ

Common questions about integrating Odoo Sales MCP Server with Cursor.

01

What is Agent mode and why does it matter for MCP?

Agent mode is Cursor's autonomous execution mode where the AI can perform multi-step tasks: reading files, editing code, running terminal commands, and calling MCP tools. Without Agent mode, Cursor operates in a simpler ask-and-answer mode that doesn't support tool calling. Always ensure you're in Agent mode when working with MCP servers.
02

Where does Cursor store MCP configuration?

Cursor looks for MCP server configurations in a mcp.json file. You can configure servers at the project level (.cursor/mcp.json in your project root) or globally (~/.cursor/mcp.json). Project-level configs take precedence.
03

Can Cursor use MCP tools in inline edits?

No. MCP tools are only available in Agent mode through the chat panel. Inline completions and Tab suggestions do not trigger MCP tool calls. This is by design — tool calls require user visibility and approval.
04

How do I verify MCP tools are loaded?

Open Settings → Features → MCP and look for your server name. A green indicator means the server is connected. You can also check Agent mode's available tools by clicking the tools dropdown in the chat panel.
