  What does this MCP calculate?

  This MCP calculates three key areas of your AWS WAF setup: total rule capacity, rate-based rule limits, and rule complexity. It validates your entire configuration against AWS's mandatory operational constraints.

  Can I use this to check my rule nesting?

  Yes. The MCP uses the evaluate_rule_complexity capability to check if your rule's logical structure violates the maximum nesting depth or condition limits recommended by AWS.

  Does this require AWS credentials?

  No. This MCP is designed to take the configuration details you provide and run deterministic calculations against known AWS best practices, so it doesn't need live credentials.

  What if my rate limit is too low?

  If you run the analyze_rate_limiting capability and the threshold is too low, the MCP will tell you that it falls below the minimum required rate, helping you adjust it before deployment.

  Is this for all types of firewalls?

  No. This MCP is specifically built for AWS WAF (Web Application Firewall) configurations and uses AWS-specific capacity and compliance rules.

  How do I check if my WAF rule count is too high?

  You can use the calculate_waf_capacity capability. It will return a list of capacity warnings if your planned number of rules or Web ACLs exceeds the recommended limits.

  What is the minimum threshold for rate-based rules?

  The minimum allowed threshold for rate-based rules in AWS WAF is 100 requests per 5-minute window. The analyze_rate_limiting capability will flag any value below this.

  Yes, the evaluate_rule_complexity capability specifically checks if your nesting depth exceeds the recommended limit of 5 levels.
