Enrich BigQuery records via Google ADK

Enterprise agents need to clean up massive datasets. Connecting the Abstract API MCP Server lets your Gemini model iterate through customer records and verify them on the fly. It calls `validate_vat` to pull official company details directly into your Google Cloud pipeline. Bad contact info costs money. The `validate_email` tool checks deliverability status before your marketing agent sends out a massive campaign. Since Gemini handles huge context windows, you can feed it thousands of BigQuery rows and let it run validations in one pass.

Ground Gemini in physical locations

Agents acting on global infrastructure need situational awareness. You pass an IP address to `geolocate_ip` and the model instantly knows the exact geographic coordinates of a user. That context feeds directly into Vertex AI workflows. Scheduling across regions becomes trivial. The `get_timezone` tool feeds the exact current time and offset to the agent. Your Gemini model stops hallucinating meeting times and relies on hard data pulled through the MCP protocol.

Pull live rates and holiday schedules

Financial agents require up-to-the-minute data. The `get_exchange_rate` tool grabs current currency conversions so your bot can calculate precise costs. It works perfectly alongside your existing Vertex AI pricing models. Logistics planning gets smarter too. Your agent uses `get_holidays` to check if a target country is shut down for a public holiday. You just set up `McpToolset` with your Vinkius URL, pass it to `LlmAgent`, and let Gemini do the heavy lifting.

Setup guide

Set up Abstract API MCP in Google ADK

Prerequisites

  • Python 3.10+ installed
  • google-adk package (pip install google-adk)
  • Active Vinkius subscription with a valid endpoint token
  1. 1

    Install Google ADK

    Run pip install google-adk to install the Agent Development Kit. MCP support is included via the McpToolset class.

  2. 2

    Connect via SSE transport

    Use McpToolset.from_server() with SseServerParams pointing to your Vinkius endpoint. Replace [YOUR_TOKEN_HERE] with your token from cloud.vinkius.com.

  3. 3

    Create an LlmAgent

    Pass the returned mcp_tools list directly to LlmAgent(tools=mcp_tools). The ADK maps each MCP tool to a native Gemini function call — no manual schema definitions required.

  4. 4

    Run with any Gemini model

    The agent works with any Gemini model (gemini-2.0-flash, gemini-2.5-pro, etc.). Copy the full example on the right to get started with Abstract API tools in your ADK agent.

agent.py
from google.adk.agents import LlmAgent
from google.adk.tools.mcp_tool.mcp_toolset import McpToolset
from google.adk.tools.mcp_tool.mcp_session_manager import SseServerParams

# Connect to the MCP via SSE
mcp_tools, exit_stack = await McpToolset.from_server(
    connection_params=SseServerParams(
        url="https://edge.vinkius.com/[YOUR_TOKEN_HERE]/mcp"
    )
)

# Create your agent with auto-discovered tools
agent = LlmAgent(
    name="Abstract API_agent",
    model="gemini-2.0-flash",
    instruction="You have access to Abstract API tools via MCP.",
    tools=mcp_tools,
)

Common questions about Abstract API MCP in Google ADK

Install google-adk and create an McpToolset using your Vinkius URL. Pass that toolset into the tools array of your LlmAgent configuration. Gemini will automatically understand how to format the requests.
You absolutely can limit the exposed surface area. Use the optional tool_names filter when configuring the toolset to only expose specific endpoints like geolocate_ip. That keeps the agent focused on its specific task.
The model reads the JSON output from the MCP server and integrates it into its massive context window. This allows it to cross-reference live exchange rates or VAT details against your internal BigQuery datasets.
Yes, the server integrates cleanly into any Google Cloud agent architecture. You trigger the tools from within your existing Vertex workflows just by passing the toolset to the LLM.
Vinkius operates on a strict zero-trust architecture. Your sensitive corporate data passes through an ephemeral V8 Isolate Sandbox that processes the validation and immediately self-destructs. Nothing writes to disk.
