Write Code with Real Log Data

This MCP tool gives your Cursor agent the ability to query a specific CloudWatch Log Group using `filter_log_events`. When you're debugging, the agent can pull actual error messages and stack traces from production. So, the code your agent writes isn't just a guess. It’s based on what’s actually happening in your application, letting you fix bugs much faster.

Stay in Your Editor

This connects your code editor to your logs. You don't have to switch windows to the AWS console just to see what went wrong. Just ask your agent to get the latest logs that match a certain pattern. The results show up right there, next to your code, so you stay in the zone.

Project-Scoped MCP Server Config

Add this server to your project's `.cursor/mcp.json` file. Now, anyone who opens the project in Cursor automatically gets access to query the logs. It's the simplest way to give your whole team consistent, secure access to the diagnostics they need without passing around AWS keys.

Common questions about Amazon CloudWatch Log Group MCP in Cursor

Once configured, you just tell the agent what to look for. It will automatically use the `filter_log_events` tool from this MCP server to search the specific log group and bring back the results.
No. The tool is strictly read-only. It can only search and filter logs; it has no permissions to write, modify, or delete them.
Create a `.cursor/mcp.json` file in your project's root directory. Add the server configuration there and commit it to your repository. Every developer using Cursor on that project gets the tool automatically.
Yes, absolutely. This MCP server is designed for agentic workflows. It allows Cursor's agent to independently gather information from your logs to help you write and debug code.
The tool only ever touches log events from the one pre-set group. Your connection to the server is always encrypted, and Vinkius processes each `filter_log_events` call in a temporary, single-use environment that's destroyed immediately after.
