Integrate Event-Driven Actions

The `put_events` tool gives Cline a direct line to your AWS event bus. Your agent can now interact with your backend services by sending them signals and data. When you ask Cline to refactor a service, it can also send an event to trigger a deployment pipeline or notify a logging service. This happens as part of the task you assigned, right inside your editor, so you don't have to do it manually.

Automate End-to-End Tasks

Cline doesn't need hand-holding. With this tool, you can tell it: 'After the build succeeds, send a `build-complete` event with the version number.' Cline will run the build, check the result, and then use `put_events` to fire off the message. This is about full task automation. Cline builds the component, writes the test, and now it can also interact with your event-driven backend. It closes the loop on development tasks without you needing to switch context.

An MCP Server for Live Development

Stop mocking event dispatches in your local environment. Connect this MCP Server and Cline can send real events to a staging Amazon EventBridge Bus directly from VS Code. This makes your agent a true participant in your system's architecture. This gives your agent a crucial capability for modern backends. It's not just writing code in a vacuum; Cline can now be a first-class citizen in your event-driven services, making its actions more realistic and useful.

Common questions about Amazon EventBridge Bus MCP in Cline

Use the MCP Servers icon in the Cline sidebar. You can find this server in the Marketplace for a one-click install or add it by its URL on the 'Remote Servers' tab. Cline will detect the tools as soon as it's connected.
Yes. The `put_events` tool allows you to specify the event's source, detail-type, and payload. You can instruct Cline to send any custom event structure your application requires.
You can have Cline send an event after a successful test run, trigger a data processing pipeline after creating a new file, or log an application metric based on code it just wrote. It connects Cline's coding abilities to your AWS infrastructure.
No. The Vinkius MCP Server handles the AWS authentication on the backend. You only need your Vinkius token. The server's permissions are already pre-configured and strictly limited to sending events to one bus.
The server only processes the event data your Cline agent sends with the `put_events` tool. Nothing is stored. Each server instance is sandboxed and ephemeral, meaning it's torn down after use, and your AWS credentials are never exposed.
